Two Bank Branches to Close

Aberdeen, SD – Low daily customer traffic has prompted Dacotah Bank to decide to close two small branches near the end of this year. Joe Senger, president and CEO of the company, recently informed all employees that branches in Cresbard, SD and Regent, ND will close on Friday, December 15.

Letters have been sent to customers of the two branches outlining the rationale for the decision. The letter also confirmed nearby Dacotah Bank locations and banking technology will continue to support customer banking needs.

Because customers now use a variety of conveniences to conduct business, Senger went on to say technology also played a role in the decision to close the two small branches. “Online banking, mobile banking, and increased use of credit and debit cards have changed banking today. With the branch closings, some customers will need to travel a short distance for traditional banking services; however, those larger nearby locations will provide customers with a more complete range of services including insurance, mortgage, and trust and wealth management services all under one roof every business day.”

Company management is working privately with the four affected employees regarding options and opportunities.
