Giant Vision Winners Announced

Sioux Falls, S.D.—David Owen, president of the South Dakota Chamber of Commerce, announced the winners of this week’s Governor’s Giant Vision Business entrepreneurial competition. Five South Dakota companies received cash prizes. The $20,000 first place winner was NP Systems Integration of Rapid City; Primary Manufacturing of Humboldt won the $10,000 second place prize; Ease from Aberdeen and XpressRules of Yankton tied for third and each was awarded $4,000; and Health Workforce USA/Connectushealth.org of Sioux Falls won $2,000 for fifth place.

Dacotah Bank sponsors the Giant Vision competition each year along with Governor Dennis Daugaard, Wheeler Manufacturing of Lemmon and others.

Ellen Schlechter of Faulkton High School and Henry Wegehaupt of South Dakota School of Mines and Technology tied for first place in the student competition. Each received $4,500 top prize money. Schlechter developed a mobile app to help livestock producers track calving records. Wegehaupt’s business provides automated solutions for cattle operations.

The Governor’s Giant Vision Business Awards and Student Awards were established to promote South Dakota as one of the best places to start a successful business according to a release from the South Dakota Chamber’s office.
