Dacotah Bank Risk Specialist Earns Masters Degree
Dacotah Bank’s Rachel Vosika graduated with the inaugural class of the Masters of Banking and Financial Services at Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD. The Warner native has been with Dacotah Bank since completing her undergraduate degrees in 2011. She currently works as a risk specialist and has spent time in both the compliance and internal audit departments.
Vosika said the advanced degree helped broaden her understanding about the banking industry. “My jobs have primarily focused on assessing and monitoring risk, and [the degree] has given me a better understanding of lending, wealth management, business law, and strategic planning,” Vosika said.
Vosika holds undergraduate degrees in both banking and financial services and professional accountancy from NSU, as well as a minor in economics.
Ten students, from South Dakota and several other states, were the first graduates of the online Master of Science degree in banking and financial services program. According to the university, they are one of only a handful of universities in the U.S. to offer the program at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
