Dacotah Bank Makes Major Gift to Mary's Place at Safe Shelter

Jamestown, ND – The new $1.2 million dollar Safe Shelter building project in northeast Jamestown has received a major financial gift from Dacotah Bank. Casey Henderson, the company’s market president, has announced a pledge of $20,000 toward the construction of three apartment units with garages and office space.

The Anne Carlson Center donated land to The Safe Shelter for new residential and office facilities. Mary Newman, widow of Harold Newman of Newman Signs, provided a lead gift. Now named “Mary’s Place at The Safe Shelter,” the project has become a reality.

Henderson says such additions to the Jamestown area community are important on several levels. “The local vitality, society values, and long-term vision each Dacotah Bank market has for itself are key contributors to the bank’s overall success. It’s this success that has positioned Dacotah Bank well to provide financial support to Mary’s Place at The Safe Shelter and other worthy endeavors throughout Dacotah Territory.”

With a mission of respect, dignity, safety, healing, and hope; The Safe Shelter provides temporary safety for survivors of domestic violence and their children.
