Dacotah Bank Debit Cards Blocked for Fraud Protection
Aberdeen, SD – Some Dacotah Bank customers might notice their debit cards not working, as the bank has identified and stopped attempted fraud on those cards.
Paul McDonald, vice president of marketing for Dacotah Bank, said the attempt was only on a small percentage of customers’ accounts.
“We are proactively contacting affected customers and replacing their debit card at no cost to the customer,” McDonald said Wednesday. Generally, it should only take days to receive a new card, he said.
Additionally, no customer or bank losses have occurred, he said.
Mike Hollan, the bank’s chief operation officer, attributes the prevention of actual fraud to the bank’s internal systems and staff. “In today’s economy monitoring for fraudulent transactions is a necessity.” Hollan said.
